Perception Analysis of E-Scooter Riders and Non-Riders in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: Survey Outputs

This study explores the feasibility of launching an e-scooter sharing system as a new micro-mobility mode, and part public transportation in city Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Therefore, survey was conducted April 2020 to shed light on perception systems Riyadh. A sample 439 respondents collected, where majority indicated willingness use if available (males are twice likely agree than females). Roughly 75% that open entertainment areas shopping malls ideal places for systems. Results people who ride-hailing services such Uber, expressed more e-scooters various purposes. The found major obstacle deploying Arabia is lack sufficient infrastructure (70%), followed by weather (63%) safety (49%). Moreover, approximately half believed COVID-19 will not affect their ride e-scooters. Two types logistic regression models were built. outcomes show gender, age, using play important role respondents’ e-scooter. enable policymakers operating agencies evaluate better manage operation integral reliable transportation.
